Call to Worship
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
Give thanks to the Lord of lords,
for his steadfast love endures forever.

Give thanks to him who alone does great wonders,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
to him who by understanding made the heavens,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
to him who made the sun and stars

for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him brings his people out of exile
for his steadfast love endures forever;
It is he who remembered us in our low estate,

for his steadfast love endures forever;
and rescued us from our enemies,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
Give thanks to the God of heaven,
for his steadfast love endures forever.
Adapted from Psalm 136

King of My Heart

God of perfect love,
we confess our willingness to be loved
but also our reluctance to love.
We confess our readiness to accept your forgiveness
but also our refusal to forgive.
We confess our eagerness to grasp your redeeming love
but also our resistance to follow you completely

Forgive our shallow and selfish love
You call us to love our enemies
But we struggle to love others in the faith
Your love lead you to the cross
Yet we often cling to comfort and convenience
Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world,
have mercy on us.

Assurance of Pardon
Who will bring any charge against God’s elect?
It is God who justifies.
Who is to condemn?
It is Christ Jesus, who died, yes, who was raised,
who is at the right hand of God, who indeed intercedes for us.
Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

For I am convinced that neither death, nor life,
nor angels, nor rulers,
nor things present, nor things to come,
nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
nor anything else in all creation,
will be able to separate us
from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Romans 8:31-35, 37-39)

May the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all,
as we do for you, so that he may establish your hearts blameless
in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
1 Thessalonians 3:12-13
